The March of Dimes’ annual fundraiser, March for Babies, will be held April 25 at the West Fargo Veterans Memorial Arena. The event raises money to support research and programs to prevent premature births.
* Of the 8,205 babies born in North Dakota during 2006 – 1,017 were born premature. That represents 20 babies per week.
* North Dakota had a 33% increase in premature births during the past 10 years, and in over half the cases, nobody knows why (4th highest in the nation)
* and… YOU have been “touched” by the March of Dimes if you had a polio shot, ultrasound, sonogram, received information on Sickle Cell Anemia, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, or Folic Acid, or had a PKU test at birth.
It’s a great cause and a fun time, so why don’t we all take part. We’ve started an InForum Moms Team for the walk. You can join the team (we’ll walk the 3 miles as a group), or if you prefer, make a donation to the team’s total. Here’s the link:
I hope you’ll join me! Feel free to contact me with questions.
